Alternative Forms of Feedback for Instructor Evaluation

This applet is designed to give feedback about an instructor. The concept is that most feedback for instructors is due to emotions. Students who want to give positive feedback really like the instructor. Student who want to give negative feedback really, really probably dislike the instructor. But, when students have the choice to fill in a number directly, not much information is learned. If the student is so upset that they're willing to click a button 4,293 times... you know quantitatively how really upset they are.

The idea also is to make the feedback a 'natural mechanism'. That is, it is something that has a real-world counterpart and intuitively makes sense.

In this demo, click on "rotten fruit" or "gold star" to show whether you are pleased with your instructor or not. Then, click on the instructor's photo as many times are you feel you need to. When you are done, click on "done" and your anonymous results will be added to the rest (not hooked up). To leave more specific information, explaining why you feel the way you do, feel free to click any checkboxes that match your feeling.
